A MedTech Innovation Now FDA-Cleared and Award-Winning

At Genesys Electronics Design, we’re proud to celebrate a major milestone with our partners at Electrogenics Laboratories:
The MOSkinâ„¢ Radiation Dosimetry System has received FDA 510(k) clearance for commercialisation in the United States and was recognised as a Winner at the 2025 Australian Good Design Awards in the Product, Medical & Scientific category.
These achievements validate the combined power of engineering, design, and research and mark another success story in Genesys’ mission to deliver regulatory-ready, high-impact MedTech innovation.
From Research to Real-World Application
The MOSkinâ„¢ system enables clinicians to measure radiation skin dose, improving accuracy and patient safety in radiation therapy.
Developed in collaboration with Electrogenics Laboratories, Design + Industry (now Capgemini), and the University of Wollongong, the system leverages a breakthrough MOSFET semiconductor sensor that provides instant, precise, and non-intrusive radiation dose readings, representing a significant advancement over traditional dosimetry tools.
While D+I led industrial design, Genesys served as the lead engineering partner, translating this innovation into a fully integrated, ISO 13485-compliant medical device.
Genesys Engineering Contributions
Our multidisciplinary team delivered end-to-end engineering and system integration, including:
Electronics design: High-precision sensor conditioning circuits, ultra-low-current measurement, and multiplexing for multiple sensor inputs.
Embedded firmware: Secure, reliable, and optimised code for accurate data acquisition and system control.
Mobile application development: A custom-built iPad app that enables clinicians to view, manage, and record real-time radiation dose data with intuitive usability.
Regulatory and compliance leadership: System-level risk analysis, verification and validation planning, and alignment with ISO 13485 medical device standards.
Pathway to manufacture: Collaboration on design for production and traceability, ensuring scalability and long-term reliability.
This full-stack approach ensured the MOSkinâ„¢ system achieved not just performance excellence but readiness for clinical and commercial deployment.
A Collaborative Milestone
The success of MOSkinâ„¢ highlights how Genesys works hand-in-hand with innovators to bridge the gap between research breakthroughs and market-ready medical technology.
Our role extended beyond engineering as we guided system architecture, regulatory strategy, and mobile UX integration to create a solution that is not only technologically sophisticated but also compliant, scalable, and clinically impactful.
Now, with FDA 510(k) clearance achieved and global recognition at the Australian Good Design Awards, Electrogenics Laboratories is preparing for its U.S. launch, and we couldn’t be prouder to have been part of this journey.
Creating Technology That Makes a Difference
At Genesys, we believe the most meaningful innovations are those that improve lives.
The MOSkinâ„¢ project embodies that philosophy, representing a collaboration that brought together world-class engineering, medical research, and design to advance radiation therapy and set new standards in patient safety.
