2025 Grant Winner
Last year’s grant winner, Radetec Diagnostics, is developing a portable infectious disease testing platform designed to support faster and more accessible diagnostics.
Genesys supported the development of the connected mobile application used alongside the platform.

“Being selected for the 2025 Genesys MedTech Grant was both an honour and an invaluable opportunity for Radetec. It enabled us to complement our point-of-care diagnostic tests with a mobile application tailored to our users’ needs.

Collaborating with Genesys has delivered significant value and will continue to provide long-term benefits.

The mobile application not only allows users to operate the device, but also enables the collection of rich datasets for longitudinal monitoring and epidemiological studies, forming a strong foundation for future expansion into human diagnostics.”
- Fabio Lisi, PhD, Chief Technology Officer, Radetec Diagnostics

Judging Criteria
Applications for the Genesys MedTech Grant 2026/27 are evaluated by our expert panel of industry leaders, commercialisation experts, and senior engineers. Each submission will be assessed against four core pillars:
1. Technical Feasibility & Scope Fit (30%)
-
Hardware & Electronics Alignment: The degree to which the project requires core engineering expertise in electronics design, embedded software, IoT connectivity, or device-connected mobile applications.
-
Development Viability: Clarity of the technical vision and whether $20,000 in Genesys engineering services can deliver a tangible, high-value milestone (e.g., prototype refinement, architecture review, or regulatory design strategy).
2. Clinical & Market Need (25%)
-
Problem Significance: A well-defined medical or healthcare problem with a clear target patient population or clinical workflow benefit.
-
Market Opportunity: Potential for market adoption and scalability into international healthcare markets.
3. Commercialisation Pathway (25%)
-
Execution Roadmap: A realistic, structured plan for clinical validation, regulatory approvals (TGA/FDA), and manufacturing.
-
Team & Ecosystem Support: Capabilities of the founding team, alongside existing traction, intellectual property strategy, industry partnerships, or matching grant/venture funding.
4. Impact of Grant Award (20%)
-
Catalytic Value: How significantly the $20,000 engineering package will de-risk the project, accelerate time-to-market, or unlock critical downstream funding milestones.
Judges
Applications for the Genesys MedTech Grant are assessed by a distinguished panel of leaders in MedTech, medical device compliance, and innovation management, dedicated to bringing high-impact healthcare solutions to market.
