The Genesys MedTech Grant

Open to innovative startups and small businesses in the MedTech Community looking to commercialise an idea.

About 

The Genesys MedTech Grant is designed to support startups and small businesses working to commercialise innovative MedTech products. Whether you're at the concept stage or ready to develop a prototype, this grant provides the expertise and resources to bring your idea to life.

 

Working with the Genesys team, you'll receive hands-on support to develop a robust engineering roadmap and guidance and mentorship on the MedTech product development journey.

Benefits

  • Expert engineering mentorship. Gain access to a member of the Genesys leadership team, each with extensive experience designing and building electronics products.
     

  • $20,000 of engineering services to prototype, understand build costs and manufacturing options.
     

  • Network access: we will facilitate introductions and insights from our innovation network in Australia and the wider MedTech community.

Timing

Applications open on May 30, 2025 and close 5pm, July 11 2025

How the grant works

  • Eligibility
    You have a desire and mission to positively change the world through medical technology.
    Are, or will be, an Australia registered Pty Ltd company, with <$50m turnover.
    Tech-enabled startup or researcher looking to spin out.
    You are prepared to participate, with the project kick off before 30 September 2025.

  • Submit Your Application
    Tell us about your MedTech project, its potential impact, and the support you need. You can find the online application form below, with applications accepted up until 5pm, 11 July 2025.

  • Selection Process
    Applications will be reviewed by our panel of judges and assessed on impact, innovation, feasibility and viability.  Applicants will be notified of their application outcome on 5 August 2025.

  • Customised Program
    If selected, in the initial scoping meeting we will develop a custom program for you. You'll have the opportunity to choose from a variety of specialised services, from AI/ML prototype development to custom PCB design, system architecture to regulatory compliance workshops and more — up to $20,000 in total value.

  • Start Building
    Work directly with Genesys experts who will provide hands-on support and guidance to help bring your idea to life. Together, we can help turn your vision into a working product ready for commercialisation.
